Two days of impatient delay ended with the announcement that every tank would be filled with gas and every driver given a dollar and ordered to move out of the dismal B. E. F. camp. A few protested, some laughed but' the majority accepted the city's. "laBt offer." B (AP- At least partial success of Presi dent Hoover's suggestion for one- tslrd reduction In world arma ments was freely predicted by members of the American delega tion to the world disarmament conference as they returned from Geneva today. They were neither dismayed by .criticism, nor over-elated at the results obtained in the six months of negotiation. "The conference pledged itself to a substantial reduction in land, air and sea armaments and recog nized the underlying principle of President Hoover's plan," said Senator Claude A. Swanson of Vir ginia, "if this specific promise is complied with at the second ses sion of the conference, a further substantial reduction la armament expenditures may be expected." (AP) Paraguay will accept an offer of arbitration of its dispute over the Gran Chaco region with Bolivia, which has been made- by the United States and It other neutral American nations, the newspaper El Liberal said today, The paper asserted It had learn ed unofficially that the nation's acceptance will be coupled with praise for the declaration by the neutrals that they will not rec ognise any territorial changes re sulting from the use of arms. El Liberal Interpreted this policy as condemnation of the course pur sued by Bolivia. An official bulletin said Boliv ian activity in the Chaco region was increasing. A. Bolivian patrol, consisting of five or six men, fired on an outpost of Fort Presideste Ayala this afternoon, but the at tack was easily repulsed, , the bul letin said.
