and Ethyl Mae Williams presented
a group of musical numbers.

Thursday In Cloverdale, Tilla

Reusser, pastor of the .Baptist
church there, officiating.
The bride and groom were ac
companied to Clorerdale by Miss
Celesta Cuthbert, Wllber Crock
er and Richard Pepworth of Sa
lem.
A o'clock breakfast was
served at the Cuthbert' home to
the members of both families and
Mr. Pepworth. The bridal party
motored to Cloverdale for the
ceremony and returned to the
Crocker farm west of Indepen
dence about 12:30 for dinner at
which the Cuthbert family, Mr,
and Mrs. Cuthbert, Celesta, Ruth
Frances. Elmer and Jimmle, the
bride and groom, Mr. Pepworth,
Wilber Crocker and the hosts Mr
and Mrs. Crocker were present
After dinner the newly-weds left
for Santa Rosa, Cal. where Mr
Crocker will be employed for the
summer.
The bride was lovely in a Bhell
colored net lace frock over silk.
She carried a bouquet of white
carnations and rose buds.
Mrs. Crocker graduated with
her class of the Independence
high school Wednesday night. Mr.
Crocker, graduate of O. N. S. was
a teacher in the Hoskins school,
the past year. He will have charge
of a school near Aurora, this
coming year.
A group of pupils of Lena May
Dotson were presented in recital
at the Woman's clubhouse recent
ly. The first half of the program
was a playlet with story book
characters. Duets and trios were
leasing features. Those presented
were Virginia Tomklns, Barbara
Collier. Loretta Smith, Ora Mc
Dowell, Estalyne Rierson, Marie
White. Beula Brooks, Bonnie
Belle Miller. Ada Mae Smith, Bet

of Mrs. Percy Kelley for the regu
lar board meeting at 10 o'clock
Tuesday morning and this will be
followed with a luncheon at the
Kelley home at 12 o'clock.
Reports will be made by the va
rious committee heads, and plans
will be discussed for the summer.

Clarke, Mrs. George Rug and Mrs.
A. M. Chapman from the T. W.
C. A. will meet with the commit
tee on arrangements of the Y. M.
C. A. to make final plans for the
picnic to be observed by the two

Mrs. Wood was affiliated with

is a sorority sister of Miss Davis
and Mrs. Porter. Mr. and Mrs
Wood will make their home In
Portland this summer and for this
winter will be at Maderia, Calif.,
where Mr. Wood will act as school
coach.

dean of the college ef literature,

the school ot social science with
headquarters at Eugene. Dean Gil
bert was graduated from the Uni
versity of Oregon In 190 1 and re
ceived his doctor's degree at Col
umbia university la 1997.
