Collections from the corporation excise tax In 1931, based on 1355,981.73 assessed, to- taled 1220.008.33. Out of a total of SI. 554, 400.95 assessed under the individual Income tax in 1931. approximately S905.423.95' was collected. - ' '') Officials estimated that the cash retains from, these taxes tor the entire year ,1932 would exceed 93,000,000. In -many eases the taxpayers have taken advantage of the opportunity to pay in two installments, while in other cases. extensions of time in which to make payments were allowed. Money derived from these taxes is applied toward offsetting "the property levy. . - An analysis of the tax commis sion'' records shows that while there was a decrease in this year's payments of fndlvdual income and corporation-" excise taxes, the shrinkage was not nearly as great as In the federal Income pay ments. The latter payments in Oregon for 1932 decreased nearly 40 per cent, when compared with some previous years. - The statement shows that the number of corporation excise tax same amount as the larger .num ber produced "in 1931..
