Readjustment 'of .the credits Is an important step since it will allow time for 'a more thorough training in moslc. ' . - An addition of courses .in In strumentation is being added next fall to train leaders and in structors for band and -orchestra work. Would Divert ': Funds Ta In by Departments to - Reduce Deficit Iccn -. A tithing bill, patterned after those of previous sessions, made its way Into the senate yester day. It was Introduced, by Sen ator Bennett of Multnomah county. The bill provides that money from certain self-sostain-ing commissions and: boards in the state, . up to ! per ; cent, shall, be diverted : into the gen erar funds to lower the existing deficit. ' When c the. deficit Is gone, the amount obtained from the boards could : either - be re duced r. or discontinued by. the state board of control. - . ; r " "From the tithing bill, provis ions, the ' highway commission,; the state v Industrial accident commission and the higher board ot education are exempted.: The state game board Is Included. Bennett's bill provides -a direct over-charge on all revenues from the departments. Senator Craw ford's . bill, on which a bearing was held Tuesday njght, : would turn in -the total amount ot funds to he general treasury for budgeting but provides no speci fic diversion of the funds to re-. duce existing deficiencies.
