Tirelteabash Trio la Snow A
party of five Salem boys made the
trip into Breitenbush last Sunday,
being the first persons besides the
forest rangers to penetrate to the
mountain Tesort since n the recent
fall of six Inches of snow. The trip
was made in a sedan, which had
to go at least six miles over; moun
tain roads In low and second
gears.! A number or pictures or
mountain scenes were taken and
the trip was worth while, accord
ing to the boys, who were Ldrenee
and Wesley Klelnke, Jack McNeil.

Indian tribe and an ethnologist on
his trlbo, visited old friends in
Salem Tuesday night while on a;
brief stop en route from Seattle

out in the year, 683 volumes re
bound and 387 lost and cancelled,
while 14 were lost and paid for.
Tbe financial report shows to
tal receipts of 914.075.48, of
which 312. 970. was from city tax;
31105.48 from petty cash; 3983.
59 from fines, 941.74 from lost
books, $85.90 from rentals and
9128 from non-residents' cards.;
The total income per capita was
53 cents, which is short of the
81 per capita support recommend
ed as standard by the American
Library association, when five
books per capita are circulated.
Salem's circulation is 4.5 books
on about half the standard figure.
