In High Court
WASHINGTON. Dee. .5. (AP)
The validity of the radio act of
1917 under, which the federal ra
dio commission was authorised to
regulate broadcasting was assail
ed, today in the supreme court.
It was contended by three Chi

and WOK that congress In the
exercise of Its control over inter
state commerce had exceeded its
powers when it authorised the
commission to refuse to renew li
censes. WRCW was required to
reduce Its power and. the other
two stations were driven off the
air. Counsel for owners argued
that these orders constituted tak
ing their property without due
prooess of law. while they did not
challenge federal control over

from 10 cents to eight cents,
which meansi this one item alone
will save a considerable sum.
Although no especial mention
