On the way home an inner tube blew out and the TURNER FOLK HIST CMP HAS A BUSY WEEK SHverton Church Workers Plan for Coming Year's Activities SILVERTON , Sept. 10 The Methodist church is experiencing a busy week this week. Wednes day evening is regular church night and k will be- observed with a supper at the church fol lowed by a program and an out line of the plans for the coming year. The Young People's class will hold a special meeting and elect officers that evening. Friday afternoon the Cradle Roll and Home Department of the church will enjoy a party in the church parlors with hoars from 2:30 to 4:20. Sunday morning a special" pro gram will be given during the Sunday school hour in commem oration of Rally Day. JEFFERSBH SCHDOLS WILL OPEN MY JEFFERSON, Sept. 10 The high and grade school of Jeffer son will begin on Friday. This Is a new nian. but it enables the pupils to find out what books they need and can get them on Sat urday and be ready for work the following Monday. Sept. 10 The Silverton chamber of commerce will begin its monthly dinners again on the third Wednesday evening of this month, according to present plans. Whether or not the Monday noon luncheon will begin the latter part of this month will be decided at the din ner. Various committees will also make reports and plans for the poultry and corn show to be held here early In November will likely be discussed at this meet ing. The chamber of commerce. while Hot off the Job, has been taking a vacation for the past two months. Byram spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Newport Sunday evening, but ow ing to car trouble, had to leave his car to be overhauled, so his nephew, George Wilson took him back. The wound failed to heal properly and Mr. Reynolds is submitting to a skin grafting operation, thirty pieces of skin having been need.
