Admiral Byrd's other expedition ship, however, reported she was making good time against the heavy seas. Both ships reported that those aboard were well. A stowaway was tonnd aboard the Eleanor Boiling after- the vessel left Duaedia and will be pat ashore at Papeete, where the two ships are to join company for the trio to Panama. Admiral Brrd is scheduled to leave New Zealand from Welling ton on April 24 aboard the steam er RangUiki. After working for Marlon eounty as pa trolman on the Nlagara-Detroft road tor three rears, Millard Booker has resigned to accept a position with the new rouuces mill. Booker la said to be one of the most faithful men la the road service and was always on duty to watch for slides. Gar Moore, ' another faithful road worker, has also resigned to take a position with the new mill company. Moore was a track driver. His place on the road has, been taken by Stahlman. April 4 (Jewish Telegraphic Agency) -Rabbi Las arev. the chief rabbi ot Lenin grad, who was arrested February 21. together with Rabbi Yasnog orewskl by the Rasslaa secret po lice on the charge that they had been maintaining illegal connec tions abroad, was sentenced today to ten years exile la a concentra tion camp. Rabbi Lazaret's son was ex pelled for three years while the oeeaie, zemaca zedek, was ex pelled for. two years. The 14 members of the Leningrad Jewish community who had been arrest ed tor disobeying the regulations laid down with regard to religions communities, also were expelled to a concentration camp for va rious periods ot years. The home for the Jewish aired that had been supported by the now liquidated Jewish - commun ity. Is closed for lack of funds. The Jewish old men and women. some ot them more than 80 years old. are being distributed among various Christian homes while a few are being transferred to a former monastery ten miles from PikoT. Poultrymen op erating through the cooperative received an average of 33.74 cents a dozen for eggs last year, according to a condensed report issued by the eounty agent. The poultry association last year did the largest gross busi ness of all cooperatives of the tate. Frerichs, head of the German de partment of the college for 18 years, left McMinnville Thursday for a year of study and travel in Germany and nearby countries. He is on a leave of absence from Linfield until September, 1931 when he will resume his post In the college. While in Germany he will study his Ph. D. degree in the University of Grelfswald in Pomeranla. The work la the German de partment was completed for the year this week by holding extra hours 0f orman classes during the year.
