Ranking de clared that the first examinations to be held for citizenship will be given here in February, the exact dates of which have not yet been set. Pilgrim Players Coming The Pilgrim Players of California will appear in St. Claudia, a gripping three-act biblical drama, at the First Christian church at 7:30 o'clock Sunday evening. The play, written by Marshall Gould, is said to be the most beautiful, both in verse and form, of all the relig ious dramas. The public is invited to the production. Their father had been In poor health for some time, but news of their mother's death was entirely unexpected. Many Tuition Students Just 27C students from Marlon county districts outside Salem and 76 from Polk county districts were attending the Salem high and juior high schools, according to a compilation being made by Prin cipal Fred Wolf of the high school. These students come from districts that do not have a high school, the tuition being paid by Marion county. He invited all Willamette students and alumni to be In Portland the evening of December 30 to attend the monthly dinner of tha club. The meeting will be held In the Lincoln room of Henri Thlele's restaurant. Harrison said that the meeting would be largely given to celebra tion of Willamette's winning of the football championship this year. Coach Keene and members of the football team will be guests of the cieb. William Mumford, president of the student body announced that student body funds would be used to pay a small deficit on the Whitman excursion, and that in dividuals would not be asked to make up this amount. It was also announced that award day would be observed at chapel next Wed nesday. At that time student body awards for football and awards for some women's athletics will be made. Frances McGilvra of the Fresh man Glee committee announced that the glee would be held early in March and that final drafts of the four songs would have to be given to the committee for judg ing on February 15. The song this year will be a serenade and will have two stanzas a n d a chorus. Fulkerson and sub mitted to the state school superin tendent C. A. Howard. Pupils In 11 schools in the county were inspected by the teachers, with 7.904 of the 8.13C pupils enrolled being given a health inspection. Parents re quested that 119 pupils be ex cused from the Inspections. Of the pupils examined, S.001 had no defects. 1104 were ten or mora per cent underweight. Pu pils having defective eyesicht numbered 915 and those with hearing detects totaled 366, while mouth breathers chalked up to 852. Pupils with defective teeth were 3301 and the number unvac clnated was 2862. Because of the unusually mild weather during; the fall, only 20 schools were serving hot lunches to the children at the time the in spection reports were submitted to Mrs. Fulkerson. Circuit Court E.
