Low boSrb and deep baskets of , the bronze and yellow shades were effectively placed to rorm an an . lstle setting for the card tables where bridge was in play for the afternoon hours until 4:30 o'clock when tea was served. The shades were drawn and the light of many yellow tapers added the final note of soft beauty to the guest room. Honors for the afternoon went to Mrs. E. L. Baker, Miss Leah Ross and Miss Olive Baker. Following cards tea was served it the small, white linen covered tables. Mrs. Bert Ford. Mrs. John Cattghell, Jr.. Miss Edith Bragg. . MftS Olive Baker and Miss Leah RdSSi assisted in the serving. , Miss Griffith is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. L. F. Griffith. She hi graduate of the University of Ofegon and a member of the Kap fea Kappa Gamma sorority. She has hkftrt a tinnnlir member of Salem's younger crowd since her high! School days. : 7 Jit. Stump attended Oregon Stale college where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fra ternity. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stump of Monmouth. It Celebrate Birthday of Chapter The 14 th birthday of Chemek- ctaNahapter f the Daughters of the American Revolution was cele brated wtih a luncheon at the Marion hotel Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Mrs. E. C. Apperson, state regent was the honor guest and was also the chief speaker tor the program hour.-She gave an excellent account of the national convention of the organization In Washington, D. C, from the stand point of the executive. ; At the business session pro ceeding the luncheon a movement was seriously started toward the formation of a chapter of Chil dren of the American Revolution. Mrs. Seymuur Jones called a meet ing for Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of Mrs. C. C. Clark aJtN which time members of the Regents' club of Chemeketa chapter will discuss the organiza tion of the children's gfoup. Mrs. T, S. Gannett,, of Eugene, state chairman of the division of Chil dren of the Revolution win be present and assist with" 4he organ ization work. The organization will be sponsored by the Regents' club. At the luncheon table covers were placed for 65 giresta. Laven der and yellow was the color Scheme carried out. Yellow hry santhemums added greatly to the beauty of this color scheme. A birthday cake with 14 lighted cindles centered the table and was cut at appropriate time by Mrs. W. C. Dyer, the first regent of the chapter. Many out of town guests were present for this meeting which proved one of the most delightful of the recent months. Young-Holt Wedding Wednesday Miss Grace Holt, daughter of U. G. Holt will become the bride of James Toung at a simple wed ding ceremony at the home of her father Wednesday at 4 o'clock, Rev. F. C. Taylor officiating.
