Sunday evening. December 15, at 9:15 p. m. , Announcement of the personnel of the National sponsorship com mittee was mad by the Atwater Kent foundation of Philadelphia, together with the date of the fin als for the thousands of young singers now competing throughout the country in local, state and dis trict auditions .that -ten of their number' may,, sham in the tfinal distribution 'Of - $25,000 in cash awards And ten musical scholar ships. . -" The committee! includes Mrs. El mer James Ottaway of Port Hur on, Michigan, president of the Na tional Federation of Musie clubs: Mrs. Edgar Stlllman Kelley of Western College, Oxford, Ohio. Immediate past president of the National Federation of Musle clubs; Mrs. Qtto H. Katan of New York City, president of tho Na tional Music League; Mme. Ernes tine ' Schumann-Heink, contralto, with half a century of opera and concert service behind her; Mme. Louise Homer,, contralto, one of the greatest of American opera and concert singers and Mr. Ed ward W. Bok, of Philadelphia, ed itor, author and publicist. The third National Radio Audi tion has been in progress through nnt the country -since the latter m ;Jiay, ana tens oi inous in: ambitious young singers iwt flhe age of 18 and 25 ars jnpeted in Hundreds of communities during the summer and early fall. This month the lo cal winners are competing in state auditions and next month the winners of these state tests will be heard in five geographical dis trict competitions.
