Society News and Club White Shrine Has llmpressive Public Installation The very impressive and beau tlful Installation ceremony of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Wil lamette Shrine No. 2. was cele brated In the ceremony room at the Masonic Temple Monday Bight. Previous to the Installation In the regular business meeting Miss Grace N. Babcock, outgoing wor thy high priestess, was presented with a beautiful pair of silver eandlesticki. a gift from her of fleers In token of one of the most satisfactory r nd happy years that the lodge has enjoyed under any high priestess. Mrs. Neimeyer made the presentation speech, and daring the presentation Mrs. Su ean Varty accompanied by Mrs Marie Flint McCall sang "Garden of Your Heart." Following this Judge Coshow presented Miss Bab cock with a Jewelled past priestess Din, a gift of the Shrine. . During the installation which followed, Mrs. Percy Cupper sang and a male quartette gave some beautiful numbers. Following the Installation refreshments were served In the banquet room. This tart of the program was in charge mt Mrs. Merle Ramp and her com mittee. The flower phis were-Miss Opal Jlodge and Miss Pauline Livesy t Woodburr, and little Miss Jer- aldine Smoker of Salem. Mrs. D X. Beechler has charpe of the pro fusion of flowers which were pre sented. '.. Miss Grace Babcock and Judge Or P. Coshow presided during the installation. Orchard Heights Club Enjoys All-Day Meet Th Orchard Heights club held an all day meeting at the Oak Grove Grange hall on Friday. The day was spent sewing, and an informal manner at this meeting. At noon a pot-luck dinner was served to about twenty-five. Special guests for the day were Mrs. Olive Waite, Mrs. Frank Falk, Mrs. Bartlett, Mrs. Picha, Mrs. Seth Falk. Mrs. Lewis. Members present were Mrs. Isobel Falk, Mrs. C. H. Fisher. Mrs. De Lap, Mrs. Dow Gibson. Mrs. Ed. Reed, Mrs. Bernam Southwiok, Mrs. Withers, Mrs. Ralph Wilson. Portland Apollo Club Will Appear Here After a period of six years Sa lem music lovers will again have the opportunity of hearing the Portland Apollo club in a Salem concert which will be given at the Elsinore theatre Monday evening April zo. W. H. Boyer, the dean of Ore gon conductors, will appear with the club as conductor, a position which he has held since its found' lng 20 years ago. Those who know the work of the Portland Apollo club antici pate this appearance of the group keenly, appreciating of the excel lent blending of the 50 male vol ces which comprise the club chor us. The program will be bainly a popular one In which ensemble singing will be Interspersed with baritone and tenor solos. Edgar B. Coarsen is the club accompanist and May Van Dyke is tue. assistant accompanist. Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Bishop re turned from a trip In east em Oregon late last week. Mrs. L. G Curtis, who accompanied them, visited with her daughter, Mrs Stanley Allen, In Pendleton, while Mr. and Mrs. Bishop visited at Walla Walla and Dayton as well as Pendleton. The Bishops were guests at the District Rotarian banquet. In Pendleton April 10th where they met many of their for mer friends from Washington Idaho and Oregon. Another' interesting "BOO" par ty will be sponsored by the ladies of the St, Vincent de Paul parish at the new parish hall Wednes day evening. Willamette Lodge Country Club has Tea Women of the Willamette Lodge country club sponsored one of the most beautiful benefit bridge teas of the season Saturday afternoon at the club house on Wallace road. Mrs. Arthur Uttley was chairman of the committee on arrange ments which planned the benefit. Twenty-seven tables of bridge were In play during the hours be tween two and four. ' Between four and five, tea was served In the long dining room of the clubhouse with Mrs. Flint Mc Call and Mrs. S. P. Kimball pre siding at the tea table. The color scheme carried out In the tea room and one the service table was lemon yellow, the note being canght in tapers and many flow ers arranged about the rooms. Miss Elizabeth Lord left Satur day for Seattle where she will join Miss Edith Schryver. Both Miss Lord and Miss Schryver will remain Indefinitely in Seattle where they are working out plans and arranging for some large gar dens. On Wdenesday prior . to her departure. Miss -Lord lectured before the Eugene garden club on "Perennials and Perennial Borders". White enter tained with an attractive bridge tea at her home on Bellerue street Monday afternoon. Bridge was in play at seven tables between the hours of two and four.
