Mrs. George Rots man will review Bess Streeter Aldrich's book. "A Lantern In Her Hand." Mrs. Rossman but recent ly came from the Portland club where she was active prior to her coming to Salem. She recently read her interesting review of this hook at a meeting of the Portland Woman's club. Miss Ruth How, Instructor in the music department at the state school for the blind, will sing a group of solos which will include Era Del 'Acqua's VHlanelle." Miss How will be accompanied at the piano by Miss Helen MacHlr nra of the department of music at Willamette university. Displayed on the financial sec retary's desk this afternoon will be the 45 pictures mounted by club women. The ' Golden Leg end" is one of three parts ot i poetical work entitled "Christus, A Mystery" written in 1851. This musical setting, a symphonic can tata, dedicated to Longfellow, was the prize composition of the Cin cinnati MusieYl Festival of 1850 and Is considered one of (he com posers most beautiful works. Solo characters will be sung by Mrs. H. H. Harms, H. B. Glais yer, Albert H. Gille, and Lawrence C. Maves. Beer at an attractive affair at the L. M. Scholl home Wednesday, after noon. Miss ,Scholl Is a graduate of the University of Oregon and a member of the faculty at the Hood River high school.
