Neat, Snappy Designs With All Sorts of Com
binations Appear to Reviewer of Modes;
Colors Gayest for Many Seasons
If you are one of those shy, re
tiring persons who look longingly
at gay togs, then buy something
plain and mousey, yon will hare
a hard time of It this spring, we
fear. For color and pattern, are
too important in the fashion fore
cast to permit you to go about In
eeutral costumes.
You must tell a story In print,
if you would be Interesting. And
whatever best expresses your per
sonality may be shown through the
color and design you choose. '
VUAT DESIGNS SEEN
There are neat, snappy little
designs, wee florals massed and
scattered; geometries and all
manner of plays on dots and
checks ob pussy willow and pussy
willow erepe for tailor-type cos
tumes. More dashing, designs re
flecting the tempo of the times
aod the out-of-doors appear on
the shantungs, the heavier weaves
of khaki-lcool and silk and wool
erepe Ibis.
For formal afternoon and eve

larger, more striking prints the
exotic florals and designs charac

dominant upon filmy chiffons and
Indestructible chiffon voiles.

not romancing. These are really
to be found among one new group
of silks whose fifteen designs de
pict early historical events.)
And because they are finely
done and fashion-correct In every
detail, we find these designs ad
apted for sports, town or formal
wear; used on the favorite fabrics
for all occasions.
COLORS FANCY
For those who like contrast and
a touch of plainness, however, the
print costume compromises with
out losing a whit of prestige.
Smart sleeveless s ometimes
backless frocks of plain silk are
often combined with new prints
