They will be disposed of to the best advantage, uamornia trows no filberts. The 1928 California crop is on- lv. 47 per cent of that harvested ! vear. when the total was 40.000 to 50.000 tons. The Ore- gn walnut crop will. perhaps run tr MOO tons this year, or 3.000, at pounds, against 700 or more tons last year. The Oregon fil bert crop will run to 150 to 200 tons this year, against about 60 ton last year. The reader no doubt will eon rnd from the figures that the California walnut prices are bet f or than the Oregon' prices. On fie face of it. that appears to be t-e fact. But It Is not true for th- net returns to he growers. Is v returns, the Oregon grower? wMl .have more money te the axnrad on the average than the California growers, because they are not charged as much tor sacks a ad grading and packing and hipping and commissions as Is charged to the walnut growers In California. The faet is. the Ore gon fancy grafted walnuts are higher In quality than the Cali fornia product of the same stan dard, and. there has for several year been a preference In price allowed for the Oregon nuts by the dealers. 5y Lulu Hunt fetra M.D. tuttor f Diet and Health ard 'Diet or CKildrer , You have Joined our Petersizing t sizing to normal) class ana are off on the big adventure.
