C. HaHberg, are now fully occupied, although a few details of interior construc tion remain to be completed. This handsome four story building, started last fall, contains 28 apartments, rang ing from one to four rooms each. It is of reinforced concrete, with the exterior of the upper story finished in a lighter shade than the rest of the building. THEO. JVL BARR Well known Plumbing and Heating Engineer It is one of the most modern plants in the city. The rooms are warmed by means of the latest type Corto radiators heated by forced circulating hot water. The heating boiler is one of Mr. Barr's own design heated by a Wil liams OIL-O-MATIC OIL BURNER The entire plant is automatic operating on a temperature difference of two .degrees. The Oil-O-Matic is also controlled by a Jewelled Clock which starts the burner in the morning and turns it off for the night. The Plant also provides automatic hot water for domestic purpose in summer and winter. Portland Electric Power Go. The apartments are arranged for the utmost convenience, this being made possibly by the ideal proportions of the build ing. There is an automatic elevator, and the apartments are equipped with conveniences which are entirely new to apart ment construction in Salem, some of these being individual stall showers in some of the apartments there are showers, in all of them and tile sinks. There is a modernly equipped laundry, with an electric washer and electric mangle. Mr. Hallberg, the builder and proprietor, has been engaged in construction work here for years, one of his larger pro jects being the Richmond addition, which he platted and in which he built 30 homes. Firms which had & part in providing materials or in con struction of the building, include Theo. M. Barr, who was in charge of tinning and put in the heating plant ; The Electric Fixture & Supply company, which installed the electric wir ing; the Stiff Furniture company, which provided all of the furniture; the Salem Hardware company which furnished all of the hardware; the W. W. Rosebraugh company, which furnished the iron work, including fire escapes, etc; the C. S. Hamilton Furniture company, which supplied the carpets and electric refrigeration equipment ; the Spaulding Logging company, the lumber and all building materials ; and the Portland Electric Power company, which installed the Hot point electric ranges. The Haseldorf Chose the Best Corbin Hardvare was used throughout the Haseldorf. Acme Quality Paints were used exclusively. Both of these lines are undisputed leaders in their field.
