An invention designed to silence, the exhaust noise of airplanes

After Week of Recess Com
mittee To Start Inquiries
About Profits
WASHINGTON. April 2. (AP)
After a recess of more than a
week, the senate Teapot Dome
committee will resume Its public
inquiry tomorrow Into the disposi
tion of the Liberty bond profits
of the Continental Trading com
pany. Birch Helms of New Tori, who
is reported to have had oil hold
ings in Texas, probably will be the
principal witness but members of
the committee declined to disclose
the subject upon which he la to
be questioned.
Subpoenas were Issued for two
others, Harry M. Blair and C. H.
Huston, both of New York, but It
was doubtful tonight whether
either would appear. Blair's
secretary informed the committee
that Blair is now In the west while
no word was received from Hus
ton. It was said that Blair and Hus
ton would be questioned about re
publican party financing after
1920. Blair was eastern treasur
er for the republican national
committee, and the senate com
mittee's information is that Hus
ton was vice chairman of the ways
and means committee of the re
publican organization under Wil
liam Boyce Thompson, as chair
man. Senator Walsh of Montana,
prosecutor for the committee, at
whose Instance the subpoenas were
issued, said he was not advised
whether Huston is the former as
sistant secretary of commerce and
now one of the advisers of Secre
tary Hoover in his campaign for
the republican presidential nom
inatlon.
