Miss Nancy Ann Miller, of Seattle, Wash., soon will arrive in India -has centered interest again on the projected marraige of the American girl and the for mer ruler. Federal Aid Requested To Settle An Lands WASHINGTON, Feb. 15 (AP) Federal aid in bringing settlers to both private and public lands on reclamation projects was urged in resolutions adopted today at the final session of the reclamation conference called by Secretary Work. Several thousand settlers were said to be needed to make the government's reclamation pro jects successful enterprises. The conference asked that the reclamation act" be amended by congress to provide for the use of the reclamation fund on public and private lands, the money to be loaned over a long period of years and at a low rate, of Inter est. ISCAP) Combination and conspiracy to suppress competition in price in the sale of photo-engraving prod ucts in this country was prohibited under an order issued today to the American Photo-engravers' as sociation by the federal trade commission. 1 I, , More than 200 respondents were served with1 the order which also enjoins the association from the making of agreements to maintain a standard scale of prices on photo-engraving products. The commission dismissed charges againat the International Photo- engravers union. Complaints against both the engraver-manufacturers and the anions engravers grew out of hiethods adopted in 1914 for en forcing: a system of set prices for photo-engraving work throughout the nation. Consolidation of three New York banks into a billion dollar financial Institution may result from negotiations now being car ried on by A. P. The merger, which would rival In size the National City and Chase National banks, would com prise the Bank of Italy, Manufac turers Trust and the Bank ot America. Although no official confirma tion of the proposed combination has been given, it is known that Mr. Glannini has been in New York for two weeks, conferring with Nathan Jonas, president of the Industrial Securities corpora tlon. which is slid to control the Bank of America.
