Barnes, professor of physics at McGill university, Montreal, was determining the feasilibity of "an choring" a second gorge at Kin uza, north of Oil City. Drl Barnes' plan, if he deema it practicable, will be to "tie up" the Kinuza gorge with steel cables in order that the ice may be pre vented from moving down the river until ne had opportunity to try out his process at the Oil City jam.
