Boy Scout Boxes i Five large boxes containing food,: toys, and other items made up aad delivered by the members of Boy Scout troup number two, under the direction of Scout Mas ter, Mr. Rex Sanford. The boxes were delivered at those homes tn the city where there was a lack of the wherewithal with which to make Christmas merry. - x Miss. Two packages have been received for. boys who might not heat from friends. One is for 41 boj-s and the. other for 43. One man sent a' gift for the boy who "bought his own Christ mas." This bojr had, never had a Christinas before, and was al lowed to work during the sum mer, saving the mOney for the proper observance of today. . . A Christmas tree party was giv en, the. girls at-the industrial school. .Archie Holt, local theater man, will present the girls a vaud eville program -this even-lg. There will also be- a cantata and' tw Christmas, carols. , - -. Dinner Will be made ud of roast chicken, noodles, sweet ootatoes. cranberry sauce, corn, mince pie, caDoage salad, candy, nuts, celery ana coffee. At the deaf school a program will be centered around a Christ mas tree this morning. " In the afternoon there- will be a party. The students will sit down ' to dinner - of turkey, . cranberries, sweet and Irish potatoes, mince pie; coffee and trimmings. The regular Christmas program was given Tuesday night at the blind school. Most of the boys have gone home for theholidays. For the flvethat remain, a Christ mas tree has been decorated. This afternoon they will be given an auto ride if the, weather is fair. The dinner will consist of roast goose, cranberries, and all the trimmings. The Christmas tree on the courthouse grounds has been dec orated with fresh lights, supplied by the Salem Cherrians. ' ,('.' - . !'
