The Salem Rod and Gun club
is sponsoring a turkey shoot to
day which will be the largest
stioot that has been held in the
valley this year.
1 The sportsmen will be divided
into three groups, good, medium
and poor shooters. Men who shoot
well will not compete with men
who do not shoot so well. The
sport will be governed by field
captains, who will formulate
squads composed of men of their
'own class. ,"
Besides corn-fed turkeys which
range in weight from 10 to 15
pounds, there will be capons and
geese. The bird being shot for
will be selected from the flock
and placed in a cage near the
pull station, so that the shooters
may see and examine to. their
ovn satisfaction, the bird for
which they are shooting.
According to Dr. Prime, the
nn Club H going tin make the
fees for. shooting reasonable-, so
that the birds will be sold at
very little or no profit? The shoot
will start promptly ai ,9 o'clock,
and will probably last weil into
the afternoon, on the Red bhd
Gun Club's shooting grounds.

coach for eight years.
In an official statement, the
Columbia committee also said

declared his agreement with
Columbia was made contingent
specifically upon his release by
Notre Dame and that he had not
