bors of W. G. Walling are sorry
to learn of the death of his moth
er, Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Wal
ling, who, with her husband, G. A.
Walling, has been "making her
home with him for some time. At
the time of her death she was
visiting her son, Ray Walling of
North Summer street, Salem,
where she was taken suddenly ill.
though she had been in very poor
.health for the past year or so.
She leaves tlso two other son.
Chester Walling of SHverton and
Ralph Walling of Jefferson,' and
one danglster, Mrs. Vera Sutber
land. The funeral service was
held in St. Paul's Episcopal church
in Oregon City and interment was
in Mt. Scott cemetery.. There was
an abundance of flowers and a
large attendance at the funeral. -
There were several family re
unions Thanksgiving day. Mr.
and Mrs. Harvev- Armstrong and
family, with about 25 other rela
tives, were guests for dinner of
Mr. Armstrong s sister, Mrs. Bes
sie Marshall in Salem. ;
Mr. and Mrs. Charles WY Cady
entertained about 27 relatives and
friends, each bringing a covered
dish. The decorations were tango
sunflowers, refringed with yellow
paper petals, while the sideboards
were gay with red apples and bou
quets of golden, bronze, and rose
colored chrysanthemums. The lato
afternoon was spent In singing,
recitations and testimonials.
