Missionaries Relate Perils , A letter far out of the ordinary has been received in Salem from Mr. and Mrs. Louis H. Randle (Marie Crawford) of Suifi, China, by Mr. and Mrs. Wayne D. Henry of ; Polk county. Mrs. Randle; the author of the document, will be remembered as Marie Crawford, daughter of the late Prof. W. J. Crawford and sister of Mrs.Wayne Henry. Mrs. Randle, a, graduate of the Salem high school spent her entire girlhood in the vicinity of Salem. For the past fiver ami a half years she has been associ ated, with her husband as a mis sionary representing the mission ary society of the Baptist Foreign society. Gen eral Whang, the new Suifi sene ral, being an inquirer from the Unina inland Mission, was very friendly lo the missionaries in Suifi.. so he promised to see us tnrough to Kiating even if it re quired as m'anv as 400 soldiers to do It. We had planned to leave Suifi on different dates ranging from June 23 to June 30, in order that there might not be any congestion in Kiating.
