For years tourist have visited
the beautiful Evangeline country
of Lousiana and have marvelled
at the beauty of the moss hunk
oaks beneath which Evangeline
awaited her lover. In the center
of the park will be a wading pool
surrounded by figures symbolic of
the poem. Youth, Gladness, Love
and pespair, over which will stand
the monument consisting of a fig
ure of Longfellow and his two
characters,- Evangeline and Gab
riel.
: Funds for the project are being
furnished by subscriptions from
school children of the South and
Longfellow-Evangeline associa
tions everywhere.

drug stores and guessing at the
proper grade and quantity of each
ingredient, when mixing the home
made compound, has been' u hand
icap to many who have had faith
in the efficiency of jglycerine over
other solatlpns.

have bought a wrong grade
known as crude glycerine which
has not the proper specific gravi
ty for use in , radiators. Many
motorlstB, however, haye been
using the correct solution of dis
tilled glycerine and water as an
anti-fregze for their Radiators
during winter. They' hive ' been
mixing, the Ingredients them
selves, because they could not buy
a compound in . the general mar
ket. , - j
Last year the Bureau of Stand-1
arda at Washington specified as
an Ideal radiator solution, "one
that will prevent freezing of the
radiator liquid without injuring
either engine or radiator.j that will
not lose, its non-freezing pi'jper
tes after continued use and that
does not materially change the
boiling point of water when dis
solved In it." With these specifi
cations in mind, and in j order to
make a suitable solution avail
able everywhere, the Proctor and
Gamble company, is putting on
the general market a trademarked
package of distilled glycerine of
the proper specific gravity under
the brand name of Wo.
This will insure to motorists
the opportunity to buy j for their
radiators an approved! mixture
properly blended and ready for
use, which is an important ad
vantage, inasmuch as the grade of
glycerine obtainable at- drug
stores has not been the grade now
perfected for this specific use. For
the use ef all motorists a table
of radiator capacities has been
prepared which shows the exact

The -effectiveness of this solu
tion . is mainly derived Xrom. ,the
purity, of its only ingredient,
glycerine, which is absolutely
harmless to any of r the "rubber
hose. connections, metallic parts
of the radiator, the engine, or the
gaskets. Everyone, kffows that
glycerine ' is odorless, and it is
also known not to be injurious to
the finish of a car upon which it
may 1e spilled, and that as it has
no inflamability there, is no fire
hazard. Its boiling point is high
er than any solution wth alcohol
In it or even than water alone,
so that the motor operates at a
uniformly efficient temperature.
To thse advantages are to be
added that distilled glycerine is a
freely flowing fluid which does
not evaporate and insures no con
stant replacement. One filling. at
the beginning of cold weaiher; is
all that is necessary; that first
cost is the only cost, making the
glycerine solution an economical
ope.
