Sev- nty-slx patents, almost Invaluable were takVu from German inventors during! the war and these patents viii now be used by the Kodel ro- ganizailon. - The' German patents cover al moft every phase of tuned radio frequency sets, and engineers and , laboratory workers j in the Kodel factory are working day and night bo that the advantages of the pat ents may be put to immediate use. 1 Only three other radio manufac turers? inrthe 'uatlon' have been granted permission to operate un- der the Navy1 license. . The Kodel Itadlo( Corporation was granted the license only after months of inves tigation ' and principally because ( Clarence E. Ogden. president of '4 the organization, has 32 basic pat ents covering battery chargers and radio receivers, in his own name. These 32 patents were turned over to the War Department, upon re-I eeipl of the license, to be sed by ! the government in case of emer- i gency. So, the total number of patents under which Kodel Radio Corporation operates at the pres ent time is 108. -The patents granted under the license from Secretary Wilbur in clude inventions by such great In ventors as'Schiessler, Schloiemilch. The popula tion has increased greatly since then, but -the use of the telephone has far outstripped the growth of population.
