"It require at least a month to get the explosive after the orders for a car bare been pooled." : j The cost of. this explosive to Oregon users will be around $8 Per 100 pounds. It is supplied by the federal department ot ag riculture merely for the costs of cart rid ring it for farm use and for shipping , and handling. County agents handle the distribution In their counties, and to make it pos sible for farmers in non-county agent counties to share in the benefits ot this cheap and power ful explosive certain banks have offered to take orders with no or profit to themselves. This makes possible a saving of many thou sands of dollars to Oregon farm ers. Pyrotol is made from surplus war material and was used large ly by Oregon farmers last year in land clearing. The contract with the government specifies that or ders must be placed in not less than carlots. This keeps down freight charges, but makes neces- aary the pooling of many orders.
