The study of the earth and the

part "of the research program,
calls for a series of inquiries into
the structural conditions and read
justments . of .the earth with, re
spect, to the carrying on of the
services, or the work of the city.
The services of the city are con
sidered by the Foundation to in
clude construction industries, fuel

and the like. A study of the earth

particularly ' to develop organized
knowledge by which loss of propT

minimize human loss and suffer

All this knowledge, once gained
by 'research, must be taught. Thus
the second function of the college
Is brought Into play and the
Foundation has outlined its teach

thus gained can be put into prac

In its efforts to reach the whole
public with its knowledge of how
to prevent destruction, the Foun
