' To reach the Washington beaches proceed to the foot of Fourteenth street where is located the dock or the Astoria North Beach Auto Ferry which operate between Astoria and Point Ellis, Wash. At the pre sent time ferry leaves at 8 a. m., 1 p. m., 3 p. m.. and 5:20 p. m.. for Point Ellis distant 5 M miles and requiring 30 minutes tor passage. After June 25 ferry Will operate on an hourly sched ule with capacity for 32 cars and 496 passengers. From Point Ellis, Wash., dock to McOowan Postoffice is a dis tance of 1.5 miles, the road for !h Ig distance having been rocked ust recently, but from here on to the end of one trail this road I Here Is a rod log giving the dis tances from place to place up the McKemie. You will find this a helpful guide if you are planning a trip to any of the resorts. From Salem via Rickreall and Corvallis or by Albany-Corvallis the distance to Eugene is 78 miles. Belknap springs is one mile off the highway or 139 miles from Salem. This is the end of our trail but the finished highway continues for 13 miles above Belk nap springs. The road is graded and passible to Bend when the snow is off.
