after that date active steps will be
taken towards securing the new

Dr. Carl Gregg Doney, presi
dent of the Willamette university
was given a year's leave of ab
sence, with the fire-year contract
that was entered in between him
self and the trustees. During the
leave of absence in the past
months many rumors have devel
oped about the securing of a new
president. In the absence of
President Doney, Dean George H.
