The meeting of the premier and newspaper men was then thrown open to questions, with the under standing 'that all should be sub mitted in writing. This announce ment curbed the enthusiasm of some who seemed prepared to sub mit the British leader to a gril ling cross examination. The first question was: ' ' " , ' U -"Why does Dr. Rathenau say you knew all about the Russo-Ger-man treaty in advance?" Canard Is AssaCk-d . Genoa, and that the Germans had a place on aU the commissions which were to dis cuss the accord affecting Russia and all nations. To make a sepa rate pact behind the back of their colleagues, was an act of disloyal ty to Independent Germans. "We are justified in taking en ergetic measures' declared th premier. "The thing will have a good effect on the conference. The next question was: "Docs the prime minister think that the Russo-German treaty represented a deliberate attempt to wreck the conference?" To this Mr. Lloyd George re plied: Sot an Attack "Whatever .we may think about the accord, ' if don't think it was negotiated with the idea of wrecking the conference." The German incident, he added, had not consumed useful time of the conference, which had to wait anyway for an answer from the soviet delegates, and he was con fident they would get the answer in proper time for a discussion of the project of a pact or a guaran tee that the nations of Europe solemnly bind themselves not to engage in aggressive acts against their neighbors. ? ? - MAY Brimsvick Records -4)N SALfe tODAY- OrEBATlO fGioeoada !eto' mar (Heaven and Ocean) Act II (Ponchielli) 150191 Tenor, In luiian . ; Tino Pattiera 1.50 j Trustors I)i qaella pita (Tremble, Ye Tyranti) Act III, Scene 8 t t ' (Verdi) Tetter ; in Italian . ; ...,...Tino Pattiera f Ckasaoa Indoue (Soaf o( India) from "Sadko" (Rimgky-Korkow) 15020) is English . :..i...t'lorence Xaston 1.50 I Sons ef the Shepherd Lehl (rem "Shegovrotehka" (tUmakjr X6ra t kow) Boprano, in EngJiah ................-..Fkrfiice aston 13031 15023 1.50 XJrSTBTTMEHtAL (Op. 15, Ho.
