meet the University of Redlands
in debate next Monday evening in
Waller hall chapel. This is the
first debate on the Willamette
schedule, according- to Prof. P. M.
Erickson, debate coach..
"Resolved, That the union shop
should prevail in American Indus
try." is the question that will be
debated. The debate team has
been studying this question trom
all angles and sides and practice
debates have decided and shown
that It is a big topic and capable
of wide possibilities. With the
question well worked up and on
the last -steps for the meet, the
team will spend the rest of this
week putting the polish and fin
ishing touches to tbe affirmative
arguments.
All of Willamette's men are ex
perienced debaters. ' Sheldon
Sackett, captain of the team, is a
two-year vars'.ty man with wide
experience, Robert Notson Is a
one-year letter man, haying par
ticipated In two intercollegiate
contests bringing honor to him
self. Robert Littler needs no fur
ther introduction. His experience
and training as leader ot the Ore
gon state championship debating
team of last year, has placed htm
on Willamette's team for this
yesr.
The University of Redlands has
also a picked and well trained
team. Its trainer and coach is
