Baker, at their home at 144$ Oak street, in this city. Mr. Baker lived In Salem until a few years ago when he went south During the last few years of his res idence here he practiced law. Now he devotes h!s time mainly to writ ing poems which , nave won him praise from a number of literary critics.. At present he Is working on a new book of poems which will soon be ready for the press and which Mr. Baker says is much better than the -book. "The Heart of the Last Frontier," which he published several years ago. The above poem "Quest! Is perhaps the most liked of his poems, and it has received much flattering praise. Mr. Bak;r will go directly to San Diego and then to Los Angeles, which is his present home. Early fn the summer he plans to go Into Mexico.
