Alumni associ ation of the graduates and ex-student of the University of Oregon. W. C. Win-low is one of the leaders of the movement. Committees were selected to arrange a constitution and by-laws and the actual organi tatlon will probably be effected soon. The next meeting is planned for Tuesday night at 7 o'clock. Man) Hlcycle Stolen About two dozen bicycles have been stolen in Salem during the past six weeks, according to the reports to the police for that time. Police believe the petty thefts are the re sult of organized work, or a- num ber of separate parties that talcs the bicycles only to ride them home or along the street and then dis card them in some secluded place or leave them standing In the street. The parties Implicated in the thefts are said to be known to the police and will be arrested if the reports of the missing wheels continue t 1 su rvived jy one sister. Mrs. C. Wright, of Eatonville. This was the case of James Polihronls. a railroad man of Portland, who was killed when run down by a motor truck. Of the total number of cas es reported 378 were subject to the provisions of the workmen's com pensation act. 17 were from firms and corporations that have rejected the act and IS were from public utility corporations not subject to the act.
