Y, . t Y The Salem quota is 538 memberskip at $5 each or a total of $2,690. L Salem cannot afford to fall down on this driTe. The State Chamber of Commerce means too much to Salem and community, j A circus comes to town and takes out of this city fite to ten thousand dollars for one days performance- Now we hare the State Chamber not a circus bat a red con ttructive bunness man's institution which will brinj thous ands of dollars to our State and community and not take it away to some distant land to be spent. It is not neces sary to go into details as to the duties of a Chamber o Commerce because (hat is well known. f It is up to Salem to gire this institution as well as your local Commercial Club a full hearted support to make this community what we all know it should be. If we citizens do not get out and go after things will nerer get them. The State Chamber as well as the Salem Commercial Club is going after anything that spells pros perity for Oregon and Salem. The Oregon State Chamber is ruled by its members. Referendum is the plan of expression on all subjects by con stituent members. (Signed) FREDERICK W. SCHMIDT,
