bloom for the third crop. Also, that there
are ripe black berries on the Sandy, and
in the foot hills of the Cascade Mountains.

Stkanok Stoky. On the fourth page of
to-day's Exteupkisk we give place to a
most remarkable story from J7 Italic Of
course no body but physicians of tbe first
class are expected to believe anything of
the kind. We have given the subject seri
ous thought, and have concluded that it
was well for Dr. Ljorenzo y Carmo that he
did not practice those experiment in the
city of Portland. Oregon, as he did in the
prison of Yillarica. Although he restored
life to a body whose riht to exist had
been forfeited by law yet, see what a
beafitiful opening there was in tbe case
for a suit for damages. Dr. Lorenzo y
Carmo actually ' restored the head of the
o
wrong person upon the body I Wouldn't
he have been made to ''shell out" though ?
if he had lived in Portland. The thought
suggests" itself, inasmuch as there is scarce
ly a physician or surgeon in Portland, who
has not either been prosecuted, or threat
ened with prosecution, for damages'for
mal-practice. which have thus far resulted
with one exception, in nothing for plain
tiffs. SPIJOFA L NO TICKS.
