Cherry
Pectoral
A PREACHER'S EXPERIENCE. -
"Three months ago, I took a vio
lent cold which resulted in an attack
of acute bronchitis. I put myself
under medical treatment, and at the
end of two months was no, better.
I found it very difficult to preach,
and concluded to try Ayer's Cherry
Pectoral. The first bottle gave me
great relief ; the second, which I am
now taking, has relieved me almost
entirely of all unpleasant symptoms,
amd I feel sure that one or two bot
tles more will effect a permanent
cure. To all ministers suffering from
throat troubles, I recommend Ayer's
Cherry Pectoral." E. M. Brawley,

moving along iu that section in much
the manner that might be expected,

he says there is a unanimity of senti

A Good Conedy.
Probably the be3t team in the line of
Irish comedy on the stage today, is
Murrav and Mack, whose excellent and
exceedingly clever work in their success
lul comedy, "Finnigan's Ball," has done
much to enhance their reputation.
Their comedy is bright, brilliant aud
dashing, their dancing is a revelation of
grotesque fun, while their specialties are
unique and startling. . "Finnigan's
Sail" is a finely written and highly en
tertaining comedy. The plot is not in
tricate, but the fun comes fast, and the
dialogue causes the audience to seethe
and' bubble with laughter. The sup
porting company is excellent, and in
eludes the eccentric comedian Geo. H
limerick, whose portrayal of the troubles
of the widow Lallagher, is a feature of
-the performance. The Loring sisters
are refined artists, and truly marvelous
dancers. Gracie Cummings, the cote
and curly soobrette, Edith Newton,

costuming and stage accessories are ele

meat of ecenery has been provided this
season by Manager Merritt. Their date

Mexican Receives a Volley of Bullets In
the Head and Uvea.
A Mexican was condemned to death
for stealing a can of kerosene, remarks
the Buffalo Express. lie was taken out
by a party of soldiers, received a volley
oi bullets at close rang-e, ami was left
for dead. As soon as the soldiers had
gone he sprang1 to his feet and walked
to the City of Mexico, many miles away,
where he entered a hospital. The doc
tors found three rifle bullets imbedded
in his skull, but he was not fatally in
jured. Now the authorities of the town
which ordered him executed want him
back in order to shoot him again.
But he objects. He argues that if subjected-
to the discomfort of execution a
second time his health might be greatly
endangered. There is logic in that.
The man's plea ought to hold good.
It is a serious menare to a man's health
to be taken out and shot, and the fel
low who survives the experience once
should be spared a second exposure,
in order that he may come to the states
and go the rounds of the museums as
the man with the iron skull.

A strange society was brought to
light during the hearing of a case be
fore the Thames magistrate. Several
men were charged with stealing a
watch from a sailor, and were all dis
charged except Alexander Fullerton,
on whom was found a savings bank
book for $245 end a card of membership
of a Roeiety with a curious title. It
bore the-following inscriftion: "Na
tional Liars' association Having been
a member of the above association, and
finding you are a bipger liar than my
self, . I must congratulate you on re-
lieving me of this card." It must be
gratifying to the East end community.
as well as a tribute to Fulleirton s own
abilities, that he had found no one
worthj- of relieving him of the card.
The magistrate remanded him for in
quiries.
