next fall was discussed at yesterday's
I meeting. Berry production is heavy
and since the destruction of the former
cannery by fire two years ago it has
. been necessary to haul the fruit to Eu-
gene for market, at an annual cost of
more than $7000. A cooperative pack-
Ing plant, to.coBt about 115,000, Is
planned. At present the berry crop
.-totals 400,000 pounds annually, but this
.figure would be doubled. .

Hold Man Charged
With Fire Theft
Astorai, Dee. 21. D. Wlllett, charged
with possessing goods looted during
the fire, was transferred ' from, the

await action by the district attorney.

goods, but claimed he had found them
