Thursday and Friday far the 37th annual convention of the Oregon Sunday School associa tion. Several hundred teachers 'and officers are expected In the city dur . ing the three day. Every county and all the large cities in the state should be represented by delegations. The convention dates have ben ar ranged . so that two : internationally known Sunday school men can appear rn the program. Wednesday and Thursday J. Shreve Durham at Chi cHgu. superintendent of the home visi tation department of the International Suiftday School association, will be the principal speaker ; and Friday "W. C. Pearce of New York city, associate, general 'secretary of the World's Sun day Schot association, will be heard. Mr. Pearce has not reached America yet, but should land at Seattle from The: Orient in time to arrive here Fri day. He has just completed an eight-, month s tour of the Old World in the: "interest of the organized Sunda'y schOot Work. He is rated as are ex ceptionally strong speaker, and hould draw igood audiences for the Friday services. , r - ! Although the delegates pay a regis tration fee of $1 for the benefit of the institute work wffich will feature the convention sessions, the meetings are opeirr io the general public. ; Persons interested in the!; advancement of re ligious educational work will find a Wflcome at the t-onvention hall, which will be the First Methodist church, 12th and Taylor: streets. The many assembly rooms fn the Sunday school templet will ' he used' for the institute vork, and the basement of the church will he used as a large exhibit room for Sunday school hand work. Banquets will be held each evenhig and on Wednesday and Friday noons the state cifficesr will have an execu tive session with ;the visiting leaders.
