Miss Constance Piper, and Miss Helen Stover shared the honors at a charming tea riven by Miss Mayme Helen Flynn Thursday afternoon in the blue room of the Hotel Portland. Mrs. Edgar B. Piper assisted Miss Flynn and the honor guests in receiv ing. Early fall blossoms formed a most attractive centerpiece for the tea table, which was presided over by lira. John Cabeen Beatty. Mrs. Edgar -E. Piper and Miss Irene Daly. About 65 matrons and maids called during the tea hours. Miss Piper and Misa Stover expect to leave Sunday for New York. During: their stay here as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar B. Piper they have been the inspira tion for many smart social events. Mrs. J. B. Montgomery returned Monday night after an absence of five months on a trip through the East. Phe has with her now the "Dr. Henry Russell Talbot and wife.
