Ad. 1 . , , 'Moon' Honeymoon Party Broken Up; Raid Liquor Still A moonshine honeymoon was tram' pled in . the dust Thursday night by a gang of deputy . sheriffs who raided the farm of Sam Cuska, two miles southeast of Multnomah station, con' fiscating a 16-gallon still, 450 gallons of mash and seven gallons of distilled liquor. s Cuska pleaded magnificently with the deputies. He was a married man more than ' that, he was even now on his honeymoon. The deputies wanted to know just how' long he had been married. About a month. "Nothing doing," grunted the deputies. Ordinance for Chief Clerk Is Withdrawn Recently the creation of a chief clerkship in the bureau of parks for the express purpose of providing it for M. A. Hausmann, rated simply as a clerk, aroused protests from the American Legion and the demand that an ex-service man, on the civil service eligible list, be given the appointment. Commissioner Bigelow had introduced an ordinance to provide for a chief clerkship in the street . cleaning bu reau, but in view of the storm aroused over the park bureau position he has withdrawn the latter ordinance, fear ing he might have an experience sim ilar to that encountered by Commis sioner Pier.
