Chicago Wheat In Narrow Limits In Early Trade Chicsgo, June 21.- -Wisest started higher but the market reacted shortly sfter and an easy tone developed. There was some covering by local shorts at the start, but when this buying was over the demand was not broad enough to absorb the offerings.! This caused some of the locals to put out short whest. The trend wss downward as the result snd for over sn hour the market showed poor rallying power. A little buying for Northwest account took the alsck out of the market and shortly before midday shorts attempted to cover snd found little wheat for sale. As a result there was a rally to above the previous close. Export demand for wheat was flat and there was some talk of reselling by Eng lsnd. Milling demand was not so good,- Bene fices! rains were reported over Canada. Weekly weather reports were partly bullish, confirming lome premature ripening in Kansas. . Corn held well. Local bull leaders sup ported the market and. there was some senti mental buying based on past experiences. The news wss mainly bearish. Country was a free seller of com to arrire and there were 800, 00O bushels booked by two leading elevator inter ests. Domestic shipping demand was . slow. Crop news is favorable. Oats trade was slow, but the market was firm. Bad crop reports tend to check selling. Cash demand slowed up considerably of late. Trade in proviaiona consisted largely of changing. Cash interests changed their hedges from July to September. Chicago range reported by United Press. WHEAT Open. High. Low. Close. COTTON MrCH AFFECTED BY WEATHER COXDITIOyS xora, jun a. while there was a gooa oeai or realizing and selling (or a reac tion at the opening ofr cotton market today owing to the extent of recent advance and reports ot improving crop conditions, the of fermg were readily absorbed. The opening was at s decline of 14 to 24 points but th selling tapered off th first few minute and contracts suddenly became scarce. As suit priee advanced sharply, soon selling some o 10 IV points above yesterday's closing and after easing off a few points just because the publication of the weekly weather report soon formed up again on covering by early seilers snd continued trade buying. The weekly report of the weather bureau indicated that there had been a substantial wiaespreaa improvement m the crop report b- caaa os weauier conditions during the week Teday's eottoa market pursued a very irregv ular course. It held up fairly well during th early part of the' time despite eery heavy real izing sales. In - the last hour the sudden throwing over of a lasga lias of October cotton by local interests, a lens with active selling of the same option in New Orleans, led to a sharp all around decline. .
