Albany, has admitted tiat he Is the
man, who, on March 5, lured two small

ture south of the city, according to
District Attorney John Carson and
Sheriff Oscar Bower. One of the chil
dren claims she was attacked .there
and the other was submitted to indig

The alleged crime was- committed
Sunday morning. Two little girls were
on their way to Sunday school when
they were approached by a strange
man, who told them that he had a little
girl who would like to go with them.
With this as a pretext, the stranger
persuaded the girls to accompany him.
Sloat, it is said, taught school at
one time' in a rural district on the
Santiam river in . this county, and
attended Willamette university here.

who was annoyed by a strange man
about 18 months ago and in which
case the same tactics were employed as
in the latter case in an attempt to lure
her away with him.

Bozarth and Ray Bigelow, charged

connection with the fatal shooting of
Jacob Weber here on the night of No
vember 26, ,1921, were free today fol
lowing their acquittal late Sunday by
a jury in superior court. The jury was
out 22 hours.
