The new opening values, as the nominal ones of the 1921 compared with crop, follow: 1922. 1921. S0s-40s lie 12Hs 40s-S0a tte 10 "He 50s-80s 8c 8c 60a-70s . . . . . , 7e 7se 70-B0s 7e 64e 80s80s.... 6He SHe 90s-100a 6c 8ie It will be noted that, while the opening prices for the 1921 crop were alightly higher for the larger sixes and lower for the amalier fruit than the formal 1922 opening figures, the fact re mains that little business was shown at the 1921 opening and the bulk of the early business wss below the 1922 opening. Soon after the 1921 opening figures were announced price cut ting became - general in the coast markets and values dipped severely. Recovery was not made until very late in the season. According to an official statement of the Ore gon Growers' Cooperstive association, the sales to date comprise 74 cars of Italians and six cars of Petites or French prunes. Association officials say that, while the bloom was heavy, the set was not so good. It will be impossible to give any sort of reliable figures on the expected output until after the Jane drop.
