Tuesday afternoon of operating a dance hall in violation of the law. Deputy sheriffs raided the place a week ago last Saturday night and found guests dancing after the clos ing hour of 1 :30 a. m. The dancers may net have paid for the privilege of danc ing, they may have been friends of the proprietor. Judge Hawkins held. He said the deputies had made no effort to determine this. Signs to Depict Scenic Oregon Erec tion of six huge signboards depicting scenic attractions of Oregon ancV offer ing an invitation to travelers to come to this state, will be made immediately by the Oregon tourist and information bureau. The signs will be erected at strategic points. Points selected are in the vicinity of Los Angeles, near San Francisco, on the Lincoln highway east of Salt Lake, on the highway east of Pocatello, on the Yellowstone trail east of Spokane and on the Yellowstone trail east of Walla Walla. Dort, assistant district engineer of the forest service at San Francisco, is con ferring with the Northwest district of fice on his way to Alaska where he will continue the investigation - of water- power sites which he began last year.
