traveled to attend: the health institute
conducted this week at the Multnomah
hotel, under the' auspices of the Oregon
state board of health and the united
States public health service. , was 1200
miles. . covered by Dr. Charles & Lei-
thead. -health officer of Lake county.

On Husband's Life
Mrs. Elisabeth. E. Vilas of Medford
baa brought suit In the federal court
against the : Fidelity Sc Casualty com
pany of New York to collect J5000 life
Insurance carried by her husband, J,
Stilwell . Vilas, who died July S. 1921.
Mrs. Vilas alleges that .all the condi
tions of the policy were complied with
by her husband and that all premiums
had been' paid- in. full Up to the time
of his death. Possibility that a com
pany agent iallea to transmit the proof
of death documents submitted by the
beneficiary, to the parent office, is
hinted at in the complaint, as the rea
son for the claim not being paid. , -Mrs.
Vilas claims she thought she was ful
filling all tha requirements of the pol
icy when she submitted her claim to the
agent.
