V. O. GEE DIES - Iloquiam, Wash Dec. 28. Mrs. V. O. Oee, one of noqulam's earliest pioneers. died Sunday following a short Illness. She was (I years old and had lived here since 1185. Hhe is survived by Mrs. J, II. Smith ot Tfoqulam, Miss R. Oee of Seattle and Mra C B. Dutton of Napa, Cel., daughters ; and Lee and Thomas Oee, sons, both of Iloquiam. Roscburg, Feb. 28. Oran Sutton, said to be wanted in several places for bad check operations, was arrested here Sat urday after passing a bad check In the presence of Sheriff Sam Starmer. Sutton passed a check for $15 at the J. C. Penney store here, drawing the check on a Camas, Wash., bank. Starmer. who was waiting to make a purchase' at the Penney store, was suspicious of the stranger, and at his instigation the Penny store manager telephoned to Camas, with the result that Sutton was arrested before he reached his hotel. Thomas R. Mar- It Is suspected that he passed another check for 125 In this city. Sutton was one time in jail in Portland for similar operations, and is wanted in Vancouver, Wash. He claims to be an ex-service man. Letters were found from his wife in Oakland, CaL, In which She asked him to come home and "straighten up." She also said that she was paying off $270 in bad checks he had left there. Sutton will go before the grand jury. mine which will enter tha state, cham pionship in Eugene in May..
