The Dutch steamship Tlileboet of the
JavaAPaciflo line has been routed, for
Portland loading and Is due " to arrive
the middle of February. The vessel is
eastward-bound from Beta. via and Ma
nila, sailing from the latter port De
cember SO. She will put into San Fran
dsco with a cargo before coming north.
The Java-Faclfic formerly maintained a
monthly schedule out of Portland, but
during the past six months the vessels
have taken cargo at San Francisco. The
TJUeboet is 16J5 net tons.
& E. Johnson, agent for the General
Steamship corporation, who will act as
agent for the Java-Pacific as in the
past, announces that sufficient cargo is
new in sight -for South China, Straits
Settlement, Dutch East Indies and Java
to warrant a return to a regular ealllng
schedule out of Portland. The Tlileboet
is equipped to handle passengers, is a
new boat and has an average speed of
11 sea miles when loaded.
The service will give Portland ship
pers direct connection with the Dutch
Indies and the Straits. At present cargo
for those ports is trans-shipped on the
China coast.
One of the sites selected Is in East
Vancouver, and the other on the west
