Official figures completed yeaterdav by the Merchants' Exchange on the ship ment oi grain (wheat and flour) for the month or December rive Portland 8.849.- 719 bushels and Puget Sound 2.250.224 bushels. The grand total for the season amounted to 42,027.860 bushels, as com pared with SS.12S.ST4 bushels from Puret sound. From Portland foreign shipments took tne lead by a good margin, but Puget Sound came up a trifle on tha coastwise wheat and flour shipments. Portland went long to the orient on wheat ex porting 1,583,862 bushels against 850.433 from the Puget Sound district India drew one full cargo of wheat from Port. land and none from the Washington porta. For the first half of the cereal year Portland shows better than 100 per cent increase ever 1920. while Seattle wheat enIy Pln nour 1 broke even.
