value of $24,570 to a value of $47,363. Ex

Normally a considerable percentage of the
cattle marketed from the mate states consists
of stackers and feeders. These are bought on
the treat middle western markets by feeders and
taken back to the earn belt sad eastern feed
lots for fini-hint. The past winter, however,
waa vary favorable from the standpoint of to
cattle raisers of the Northwest. The weather, as
a rule, was miM and sprint opened early. Good
tram was favorable at a much earlier date than
usual. Calving occurred under favorable condi
tions and a subnormal number of cows produced
a comparatively high average of offspring. Ex
cept for high winds, weather and rant condl-
uens nave been toad throughout the sprint, and
reports indicate a sufficient supply of gram and
leguminous crop to carry a normal snnolv of
cattle through an entire year.
