METHODIST Dr. Joshua Stansfield will occupy his pulpit in the First Methodist church at both services Sunday. Special music will be furnished at the evening service by the chorus choir. The Men's club will be addressed at 12 :15 p. m. by Dr. U. G. Moore on "Portland's Well Baby Clinic." -. The much discussed Sunday "blue laws" will be the sermon topic of Dr. Prank L Wemett Sunday night at Centenary-Wilbur Methodist church. "We are a liberty loving people," Raid Dr.- Wemett in sjieaking of his topic "W cherish traditions whose logical effect is to make us impatient of restraint. At the same time we must recognize that all true liberty is the product of respect for law. So-callrd blue laws sere drastic and cannot be applied to present eruditions without modification both in letter and spirit. At the fame time every true American resents the present attempt orf the part of certain greedy in Ui rents to break down wholesome moral restrictions for their selfish advantage. The pro paganda which makes use of the so-called blue laws in order to obscure moral issues and to prevent the exercise of such censorship and re stricken as are necessary to safeguard the moral health of our people, becomes a menace and deserves exposure and fearless condemna tion." A male chorus to assist in the Sunday services is being developed at Centenary-Wilbur by Pro fessor J. MarMillan Muir. The official board at its la.-t meeting decided to start a campaign to raise $10,000 to cancel a small mortgage on the parsonage, satisfy obligations incurred by the recent purchase of two lots adjacent to the church, repaint and redecorate the church audi SERVICES IN H.
